Film to Video Transfer

Woodland's cornerstone is our film transfer. Our business started with film transfer, and we strive to provide the best quality to value ratio in the industry. Enjoy, share and preserve your memories again by transfering your films to video. Click here to see what some of our clients have said. We have no hidden charges, exorbitant tape costs or other charges. Our equipment is the best in the business and our product will compare to many costing 3 to 4 times more. Compare our pricing and quality and you'll find we are among the best in the industry.

Process Outline

We will first clean and inspect all the film, and splice the 50 foot reels onto 400 foot reels. This gives you easier & safer long term storage when returned and speeds up our process, allowing us to get the film back to you faster.

Then, using broadcast quality equipment, your film is transferred into video in one of our transfer suites. The transfer is monitored constantly, using both professional video monitors and waveform monitors to double check exposure and color balance, as well as other aspects of the video signal. This is to both ensure accurate colors and levels on aesthetic levels as well as a video signal that meets the requirements for broadcast television. The film is captured onto custom designed and built storage modules rather than tape based storage, unlike many other transfer companies. These modules are then moved with the original film to one of our editing/authoring suites, where the where the Digital Master if created - be it miniDV, Digital8 and, of course, DVD. Once the production on your order is complete, the tapes and or discs are checked for quality, and the materials are shipped back to you. Rest assured that at all times your precious family memories are in the best hands they can be. Our equipment is constantly maintained by an in-house engineering staff to ensure both quality of transfer and safety of the materials. You are invited to call us to discuss your project at any time, or if you are in the area, feel free to stop in and see our facility.

Be aware, that unlike some transfer services, we do not use a consumer or prosumer camcorders for our miniDV and Digital8 transfers (or any other formats, for that matter). Our camera head features a 3ccd optical block with 1/2 inch ccd chips, featuring up to 4 times the pixel area than the best consumer camcorder out there and is true Broadcast quality. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us and we'll be happy to discuss your project.
